[Product Image] Medical Polymers specializes in insert molding. Inserts can be needles, wires, trocars, electrical cables, tubing, catheters, etc. We have developed methods of aligning the bevels of finished needles to hubs without damaging the needle points.

All materials listed on the Injection Molding page can be used for insert molding. We can utilize customer supplied inserts or provide them ourselves.

Medical Polymers is your complete source for custom insert molded needles, catheters, and components

Advantages over Adhesive Bonding:

  • No solvents or adhesive
  • Reduces assembly labor
  • Eliminates air bubbles
  • Consistent pull-out strength

High volume production is usually handled on our Autojectors rotary insert molding press. This press can handle tooling with up to four stations for loading inserts. Tooling cost is generally higher but production rates can significantly reduce the production cost.

For low volume or prototype production, Medical Polymers uses an Arburg vertical press for low volume insert molding and prototyping. This equipment can utilize standardized mold bases which can reduce tooling costs while allowing for tooling expansion as volumes increase.
